Sammy Basso
Together with his parents, he founded the Italian Progeria Association Sammy Basso, which he has witnessed since the age of ten.
The Charity
The Associazione Italiana Progeria Sammy Basso APS Onlus (Italian Progeria Association) was set up in 2005. Since its foundation, it has been involved in promoting the study of progeria, from its scientific aspects to the more human aspects linked to patients' daily life experience.
The Board of Directors
A.I.Pro.Sa.B. is governed by a Board of Directors that is elected at the General Assembly. The role of the Board of Directors is to manage the association and to ensure its bureaucratic and legal functioning.
The story
Our adventure in the world of scientific research and progeria began in 1998 after months and months of inconclusive visits, when Laura and Amerigo discovered that their son Sammy, who was just over two years old at the time, was suffering from Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria.
Purpose
Our charity strives to support people affected by Progeria and to support the search for a cure. A.I.Pro.Sa.B.'s mission can be divided into several objectives.
